A bit of London history.
These original Benjamin wall lights have been salvaged from the legendary Smithfields meat market in the City of London. This 800 year old institution is in its final throes as a meat market, though fortunately the buildings have been preserved, and are soon to become the new home of the Museum of London.
Original white vitreous enamelled shades with characterful wear and tear, mounted on our own bespoke wall bracket.
The shades once bore the initials of the butchers stall they lit.
We have a few variations of Smithfields light, though we don’t anticipate them hanging around for long. These are relics of London’s past.
