Swan & Chequers, Sandbach

The Swan & Chequers Pub in Sandbach is most famous for being the location of a Winston Churchill speech in 1945. The famous Prime Minister visited Sandbach and the, then ‘Swan Hotel’ to speak to residents during his time in office.

Owners Robinson’s Brewery have paid tribute to its rich historical past with a multi million-pound makeover incorporating a strong mid-century vibe.

Trainspotters supplied a selection of lighting including Danish vintage wooden chandeliers (salvaged from a London chapel in 2022) and the Giant Czech Pendant in its original mottled enamel finish. Alongside these are a number of classic remakes (the designs all come from the same era) including glass and ceramic globe wall lights and the French Street Lights originally salvaged from the streets of Lille.
